Biomentals
What heals the body heals the mind.
What's in a name?
A name that combined all the things focused on was needed to convey not only the goal, but the journey. The destination is mental health, but there are many paths available. The name represents all the checkpoints along the way in your roadmap to recovery.
Biomedical Intervention for Mental Wellness
Biomedical intervention uncovers underlying medical issues that impact cognition and mood through laboratory testing. Genetics versus epigenetics can be described as nature versus nurture. Just like different types of plants need different types of soil, moisture levels, and sun exposure or they will become sick and die, individuals need different types of external factors that suit their biology to survive and thrive. Once you get to the root cause of symptoms, you can untangle and solve problems within the body systems that contribute to mental health disorders.
Microbiome Balancing
Many people are starting to get acquainted with the Gut-Brain connection. In other words, the bacteria and fungi which populate the gut works symbiotically with our body's cells to synthesize neurotransmitters. Having these out of balance has a major impact on mental health, so much so that the gut has been dubbed our "second brain", and anything wrong with it will in turn affect the brain.
Environmental
External factors such as medications, pathogens, mold, air pollution, contaminated water, and toxic metal exposure can disrupt biological processes and cause damaging effects to the entire nervous system. These, in addition to allergies and sensitivities, can cause inflammation and antagonize chemical reactions needed to function and develop properly.
Elementals
Micronutrient deficiencies occur for any of the above reasons in addition to lifestyle and diet. The standard vitamin and mineral tests don't show you much more than what's still in your system from what you recently ate. However, intracellular testing and a discussion about the results can tell you what's been missing over months and even years. This can help determine whether an adjustment in diet, lifestyle, or supplementing vitamins and minerals can restore the basic building blocks of your hormones and necessary elements of vital body processes.
